Eight Cherokee County School District students are headed to the State Social Studies Fair after earning Best in Region honors at the regional competition, the district announced.
The students' projects covered a range of historical and social studies topics, including global trade and U.S. interdependence, the role of historical narratives in nation-building, Renaissance art themes, the impact of 9/11 on airport security, and whether taekwondo builds mental strength and discipline. Each student presented their research in a traditional fair-style format and was recognized with certificates and ribbons for their regional victories.
The eight CCSD students will next compete at the state level, where they will face top finishers from other regions across Georgia.
